Anne et Jean-Francois Ganevat is an iconic winery in the Jura region. Jean-Francois Ganeva and his sister Anna represent the 14th generation of a wine family from Rotalier, in the south of the Jury. After several years of work as a foreman in the cellar of Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet, in 1998, Jean-Francois returned to the Jura and stood at the helm of the family estate. In the same year, Ganeva switched to organic viticulture, and in 2006 to biodynamic. The practice of Jean-Francois is "one plot, one type of soil, one grape variety, one cuvée." As a result, the estate annually produces 45 different cuvées. Jean-Francois is a master of vinification of natural wines, a benchmark for a whole generation of young winegrowers. The estate owns only 8.5 hectares of vineyards with low productivity. Fortunately, Jean-Francois and his sister Anna came up with buying grapes in different parts of Burgundy from winegrowing friends who respect their principles of biodynamics and also adhere to them.
