Curtimenta gives Loureiro a different expression from the usual fresh, crisp whites of Vinho Verde. The grapes spend around 30 days in contact with their skins, bringing extra texture and structure to the wine while retaining its lively acidity and aromatic character.

After fermentation, the wine rests on its fine lees until the following summer, with regular stirring to develop a rounder mouthfeel. No additional sulphur dioxide or other winemaking chemicals are used. Chestnut flowers help protect the wine, and it is bottled unfiltered.

Made by João Goucho at Quinta da Palmirinha, this is an expressive take on Loureiro that combines the freshness of Vinho Verde with added depth and texture. Try it with seafood, grilled fish or vegetable dishes.
